For those of you who have been readers of my design newsletter
for awhile you'll notice we are trying something a bit different this month. One of the reasons for this re-design is its
simplicity, for both reader and writing. With photos, graphics and all the fancy stuff, not everyone was able to see everything.
Thus we decided to scale down a bit. If you've a comment, pro or con, on this layout, we'd really appreciate hearing from
you. Alrighty then, let's get to it.
Custom
Hotel Canvas Rugs + Mexican Tile Design
As recently posted
on my canvas rugs blog, it's been a busy, busy month. Don't misunderstand, this is not a complaint; I am very grateful for all of it! Upon
completion of the two large canvas rugs with the Mexican Tile design, it was time for installation at the Finca Rosa
Blanca. I took a couple before and after photos and should have those posted soon on the Interior Design page. These large octagonal rugs really fill the entry ways to the beautiful two suites in which they were placed.
The plan is, in the near future, a professional photographer will be hired to
take really great pictures of the rugs in situ; clearly my forte is in making canvas rugs...not so much photos of them. Still,
the photos give an idea of the size of these octagonal rugs and how well they work for the artistic architecture of this unique
hotel.
A Fancy Invite: Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica
About three weeks ago I received an email from an interior decorator who had been
hired by the Zurcher Group to decorate 3 model homes for an open house event at Hacienda Pinilla in Guanacaste.
Sylvia and I met for several hours and chatted like good old friends. She had a lot going on and although a date had yet to
be confirmed, I was excited with the idea of having one of my rugs included in the décor of such a high-end project.
After a few calls and emails, she ordered three rugs and
invited me to attend the 3 day event. This, Sylvia said, would give me the opportunity to introduce my canvas rugs to interior
designers and homeowners in the area.
Hustling to get ready, rugs
were made, postcards designed and printed, and a push to get the new website completed. (more on that below) And just
before Semana Santa! But it all came together and off we go! You'll read all about it in next month's newsletter.
Canvas Rugs Website Created for Interior Designers
Over the past year, working with several interior design firms and interior decorators,
feedback was offered on what would help them in working with their clientele. We decided upon the idea of a new website to
be used as a tool. The site will allow them to introduce clients to custom canvas rugs, offer photos of our standard designs
and provide articles on custom projects. It still needs a few finishing touches, but is functioning well enough to launch.
Want to see it?
One
thing. This new website is not replacing Laurels Originals.com. As you will notice, there is a password protected
page titled Designers. Only designers with whom we have established a working relationship will have access
to this page. If you are an interior design professional and would like to set an appointment, please contact me.
Ok, then...here it is: http://www.canvas-rugs-costa-rica.com
Feel free to share it with anyone you know in the interior design
field.
Thanks
for reading. We appreciate your comments.
