Here we are...another New Year! And with it comes new goals, new ideas and new designs for
canvas rugs and interior décor
New! Beach Décor
Theme
Recently, I took a trip north to Guanacaste
to meet with a new retail client. Located in Playas del Coco, Home Furnishings wanted to see and feel the
canvas rugs. Providing custom furnishings and window treatments to their clientele, with an emphasis on art, they took to
my rugs instantly.
And because they are located at the
coast, they asked for more beach designs. And thus, our first new design for the year is Sea Shells; you
can view it on our canvas rugs designs page. If this design appeals to you but you prefer different colors, we customize all designs with your preference. More
beach theme designs to be released soon.

Interior Designers
We are currently working on a PDF presentation
for interior design professionals and retailers which will help serve their clients with custom canvas rug options.
If you are an interior designer in Costa Rica and would like to learn more about
this new tool, please complete our short form here at the bottom of the page. Or contact me for an appointment.
And with interior design professionals in mind
and because pictures tell a story better than words, we have created a new Laurel's Originals Designers website with less words and more photos. Take a look and let us know what you think.
"...What I like the most is your flexibility to translate my ideas, yours as well as the client's
into that horizontal, functional, marvelous piece of artwork! Your rugs are a feast to the eyes!" ~ Daniel Mojica, Interior Design Professional for Tamarindo Pacific Designs
And the Winners
Are...
Before announcing the winners of our Canvas Rug Design Contest, I want to thank all who participated with your many terrific design ideas.
There was a flurry of entries at the last
minute and it took us a bit of time to review them all and pick one.
In the end, we, the judges, were torn between two
and decided to offer a grand prize and a first prize!
Grand Prize
winner is Lundy Wilder from Gulf Shores, Alabama. She submitted a pastel, sea-life design of tiles that was just
perfect for a canvas rug design.
First Prize
winner is Nicole Yee, a bi-coastal designer who submitted an elegant, simple design of a sea horse of white on black.
Both
of these ladies will receive their design as a canvas rug.Visit the website for photos of the winning designs on our design contest page. Oh, and I have decided to make this contest an annual event. We'll be announcing the details in the next couple of
months. Again, this will be open only to our readers. :)
